In the "AI Web Development Bootcamp", you learn web development the way developer teams work today. You start with HTML, CSS, Git and GitHub and work your way up through JavaScript to React. In the backend, you build your own REST APIs with Node.js and Express and manage data with MongoDB and Mongoose.
AI is part of the curriculum from the start. You learn to write effective prompts for code generation and to find errors with ChatGPT or Claude. You use Codeium as autocomplete in VS Code. According to Ironhack, the goal is not for the AI to program for you. It should help you code faster and with more discernment.
Learning follows the principle of learning by doing. You work on a series of mini-projects, partly in pair programming. A portfolio project is a React SPA with multiple views, CRUD functions and API integration. At the end, you build a complete MERN stack application with authentication in a team and present it at the Hackshow.
Before the start, you complete around 50 hours of prework. It covers programming basics, setting up your development environment and first AI basics. This way, all participants should be on the same level on the first day, regardless of their background.
The bootcamp is aimed at beginners without programming experience. After completion, according to Ironhack, you are prepared for roles such as Junior Web Developer, Full-Stack, Front-End or Back-End Developer. The Career Services support you for twelve months with coaching, resume tips and interview training.
Through the Talent Accelerator Program (TAP), you can apply for a real remote project at a startup during the course. Admission depends on an interview and available projects. Through Ironhack+, you take a certification exam such as Certified React Developer or MongoDB Developer Certification for free.
