Companies today use payroll software that the manufacturer keeps constantly up to date. The software automatically performs complex calculations and transfers payroll and salary data to the interfaces at the push of a button. According to the provider, DATEV is the market leader and widely used. In this continuing education course, you will learn computer-assisted payroll accounting and payroll processing using this exact software.
You start with the structure and components of the software. Then you set up the work environment, take care of printers and data backup. This is followed by creating clients, master data, health insurance companies and banks. Afterwards, you maintain the payroll and salary master data as well as the employee master data.
In the practical part, you carry out payroll runs and make corrections. Finally, you create evaluations and reports. Additional software presets are also part of the program.
The course lasts 2 weeks full-time or 4 weeks part-time. According to the course page, the next start date is 07.09.2026 for part-time. IBB offers the course under course number K-2478-5. Participation from home is possible.
The introduction is aimed at employees in the payroll office, accounting or personnel administration. The provider also lists HR management and self-employed individuals as target groups. Prerequisites are basic knowledge of personnel management and basic knowledge of financial accounting. You should also bring good basics in wage theory and social insurance law.
At the end, you receive an in-house certificate or a certificate of participation. The provider sees the knowledge as an important additional qualification, especially for office employees in accounting. Tax consultancy firms also need clerks with basic knowledge of payroll accounting.
