The distance learning course "French Complete Course" is aimed at you if you want a deeper understanding of the French language and culture. You can start even without any prior language knowledge. After successful completion, your language proficiency corresponds to level B2 of the Common European Framework. According to the provider, this is comparable to the local Abitur requirements in French.
At the beginning, a textbook, audio material and reading materials introduce you to the language. You acquire the basics of grammar and colloquial French. Active language training is the focus from the start. You submit your oral exercises to your personal distance learning tutor as an audio file or by phone.
After that, you systematically expand your vocabulary and understanding of French grammar. You engage with illustrative French literature. This is complemented by extensive insights into the history and culture of France. In the end, you will also master dealing with difficult literary texts.
The course includes nine study booklets, a textbook with audio material for download, reading materials and a DELF exam module after course completion. Exercises, test questions and sample solutions help you with self-assessment. Assignments are graded and corrected. You clarify subject-specific questions with the distance learning tutors, and organizational ones with your personal study advisor.
In the online study center, all study booklets are available for digital download, along with an interactive online study manager. There are regular supporting online seminars and webinars. You have direct contact there with distance learning tutors, study advisors and fellow students from your course. You receive your first materials digitally and additionally printed at home, after which you can switch at any time.
You can start the course at any time, and you can test it for four weeks free of charge. The study duration is twelve months at about ten hours per week.
