The continuing education course "Office Management and Administration" at COMCAVE.COLLEGE prepares you for starting or switching into office administration. I find the course exciting for anyone pursuing a career in administration. COMCAVE offers the course nationwide.
The lessons are instructor-led, live and in real time. You decide whether to learn on campus or completely online from home. A mix of both options is also possible, with 50% or 100% e-learning. A trial course shows you the virtual classroom in advance.
In terms of content, you start with telephone training and conversation techniques for confident communication. Then it's about work techniques and work methodology, i.e. efficient self-management and prioritization. You practice text formulation and correspondence according to DIN 5008 and learn to keep minutes properly. Finally, you handle orders and complaints, supplemented by an optional in-company practical phase.
You should have completed vocational training or a degree; even a discontinued degree is sufficient. COMCAVE requires good German language skills in speaking and writing and basic PC skills. Before starting, you have a subject-specific interview that you must pass with "well suited".
The course is AZAV-certified and can be funded up to 100%. This usually happens via the Bildungsgutschein (education voucher) from the Federal Employment Agency or the Job Center. According to COMCAVE, the pension insurance provider or the European Social Fund can also be considered as funding bodies.
After passing the course, you will receive a provider certificate from COMCAVE.COLLEGE. As a specialist in office management, the average salary according to COMCAVE is between 1,800 and 2,700 € per month. Honestly, that's a solid entry point for a career switch into administration.
