AI in the Classroom: Possibilities and Perspectives

The course is aimed at teachers of all school types and subjects. It is designed as a self-paced course and takes a total of about three hours. You work through it in four learning steps.

The first step takes 30 minutes and covers the basics of machine learning. Data protection guidelines and initial teaching ideas are also covered here.

The second step shows you application areas in image, text, and music. You test the possible uses yourself and plan an hour for this.

In the third step, you plan lessons with the help of AI. It's about tools for lesson design and creating worksheets.

The last step takes 45 minutes and focuses on data protection and ethical issues. Using case studies, you practice critical handling and strengthen media literacy.

The course has been included in the official further education portals of several federal states, including Hesse, Lower Saxony, North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saxony, and Saxony-Anhalt. It bears the Comenius EduMedia-Siegel 2025.
