The "Expert for AI in Human Resources" course by Bitkom Akademie focuses on the practical application and legal aspects of AI in the HR field. On the first day, you dive into the technical basics. You clarify what AI actually is, how it is trained, and how AI agents work. Afterwards, you look at possible applications of generative and non-generative AI in the personnel area.
The use cases range from recruiting and the hiring process to work performance, evaluations and compensation, and workforce planning. Personnel development as well as disruptions and termination of employment are also on the agenda. Various tools are presented and compared in terms of their differences. You discuss selected tools in detail, such as ChatGPT for job advertisements or employment references.
Day 2 is dedicated to the legal side. You cover individual and collective labor law issues, liability, and the co-determination rights of the works council. Regarding data protection, it deals with the legal basis for data processing by AI and the prohibition of automated decisions. Then you go through the AI Regulation with its obligations for employers and the timeline. The compliance block covers discrimination, occupational safety, and ethical aspects.
At the end of Day 2, you create an AI policy for the responsible use of AI in the company in a workshop. Afterwards, there is an exam preparation with a Q&A session. The third day consists of the exam. This multiple-choice exam takes place at a separate date after the course. If you pass it, you receive the certificate "Expert for AI in Human Resources".
