The continuing education course "Spanish B2 Level 1" is aimed at you if you want to continue learning Spanish at the intermediate level B2.1. In free language use, you improve fluency, situational appropriateness, and correctness. You deal with more complex and abstract topics and texts. In doing so, you expand your vocabulary spectrum step by step.
You acquire skills for demanding language situations. This includes participating in discussions. You conduct conversations for problem and conflict resolution. Presenting is also on the agenda.
The course page specifies the goals of the intermediate level B2.1. You communicate relatively effortlessly about things from your areas of interest and profession. In discussions, you express thoughts about abstract or cultural topics. You briefly comment on the viewpoints of others. You communicate sufficiently correctly, even if errors still occur.
The course takes place as an online course using ZOOM Meeting. There are 14 sessions, each Tuesday from 7:45 PM to 9:15 PM. The first session is on August 25, 2026, the last on December 8, 2026. According to the course page, the course cannot be booked online. You will receive the link to the course by email no earlier than two days before the course starts. Also check your spam folder then.
For participation, you need basic PC and internet skills and an email address. A computer with internet access, as well as a camera and microphone, are necessary. Alternatively, a tablet works. You can participate with a smartphone, but the functions are limited. It is best to download the ZOOM app before the course starts. In VHS online courses, cameras must generally be turned on.
The course uses the textbook CON GUSTO NUEVO B2 (ISBN 978-3-12-515016-4). This refers to the volume Libro del alumno y de ejercicios con audios. It starts from Lesson 9. You learn at a normal study pace. The course takes place regularly. In follow-up courses, you can continue learning the language.
The course is led by Tula Rocío Garagorri de Kirchmann. She has been with the VHS since 2019 and is an examiner for the DELE exam. The group comprises 6 to 9 participants. Whether the language level fits, you clarify in advance in the language advisory consultation.
