The course "Certified Supply Chain Manager" shows you how integrated procurement and logistics management works in practice. You learn how supply chain strategies unlock logistical potential, reduce costs, and lower inventory levels. It also covers your own core competencies and those of your procurement partners.
In the area of inventory management, you evaluate stock, define target inventory levels, and calculate optimal order quantities. You apply this directly in practice. You conduct inventory analyses using the ABC and XYZ methods, assign procurement procedures, and perform your own dispositions.
Another focus is on risk management: you identify risks, develop measures, and practice the approach using a case study. This is complemented by SCM controlling with key performance indicators and the standard strategies of SCM, including portfolio analysis. Network design with process modeling according to SCOR and footprint design is also included.
Digitalization is also part of the course. You deal with EDI, WebEDI, and portal solutions. This is supplemented by data protection, data security, and the use of AI in the supply chain. In the value stream management module, you learn the symbols, structure, and evaluation of the method and apply it in a simulation game.
The course is aimed at managers, specialists, project managers, and junior executives. The prerequisite is a completed examination in a recognized logistics occupation or a procurement- or logistics-specific advanced training examination. Alternatively, at least three years of professional experience in dispositive supply chain departments is sufficient.
At the end, there is an optional written exam through which you obtain the certificate from the cooperation partners. The lessons take place in person, in the provider's classrooms or in external training rooms on site.
