In this course, you acquire the practical legal knowledge for data protection and data security in the company. The content is based on the Federal Data Protection Act and the Europe-wide applicable General Data Protection Regulation. So you learn not just theory, but implementation in the workplace.
The first block covers the legal foundations. You go through the basic principles of the GDPR, along with the rights of data subjects and the obligations of controllers. Third countries, responsibilities and sanctions are also covered. The BDSG shows you how Germany transposes the GDPR into national law. Other laws such as the UWG and TMG also play a role here.
Then it gets practical. You work on technical and organizational measures as well as the register of processing activities and its structure. You create DPA contracts and learn the delimitation considerations behind them. Privacy policies and other templates for the tasks of the data protection officer are also included.
The data security section introduces you to the BSI's security management system. You learn about the role of the information security officer and look at certifications such as ISO 27001. Other areas such as fire protection are also addressed. Legal case discussions bring what you have learned back into practice.
The course runs four weeks full-time as an online continuing education course in the virtual classroom. It ends with exam preparation and the exam. If you pass, you receive the recognized TÜV certificate as a data protection officer. As an additional offering, GFN mentions a Copilot user training course and the AI Führerschein with risk management for AI systems.
