As an IHK Certified Retail Specialist, you take on operational and strategic tasks in retail. The continuing education covers business management, human resources management, retail marketing, as well as procurement and logistics. Step by step, the course prepares you for the IHK exam.
You choose between the hybrid course with in-person or livestream and the purely online course. IFF teaches at the locations Cologne, Düsseldorf, Dortmund and Duisburg. You can choose from a full-time course, part-time models such as evening and Saturday courses, as well as a shift plan course for shift workers. In both cases, the lessons are live, so you are never alone with a video.
The full-time course lasts approximately four months. Part-time as an evening or Saturday course stretches over 12 to 17 months, the part-time mix lasts 6 to 7 months. The shift plan course for shift workers usually runs for nine months.
The advanced training is right for you if you have a commercial education in retail and want to move into middle management. Depending on your previous education, you need one to five years of professional experience to be admitted to the IHK exam. You can also get in with training as a warehouse logistics specialist or a business administration degree with 90 ECTS credits.
The IHK exam consists of two written partial exams on business management and on retail marketing and logistics. In addition, there is an oral exam with a presentation and a technical discussion. At the end, you hold your IHK certificate in your hands.
Extras include a free loan tablet or laptop and weekend tutoring. Before the exam, there is a five-day preparation week. Up to 14 days before the course starts, you can cancel for free. At the locations Cologne, Düsseldorf and Dortmund, IFF will arrange accommodation for you if needed.
