The "Industriefachwirt IHK" course prepares you for the IHK exam for this same advanced vocational qualification. It is aimed at industrial clerks and other employees in commercial or administrative professions. You want to move up to middle management and will then take on specialist or management tasks in industrial companies.
You can choose between several course models. The full-time course lasts three to four months with classes Monday to Friday. Part-time variants run as evening, Saturday or mixed courses over six to seventeen months. For shift workers, there is the shift schedule course, for which IFF was awarded the German Innovation Award 2018.
The classes are held in a hybrid format. You attend live on site at one of nine locations such as Cologne, Düsseldorf or Stuttgart. Alternatively, you can join via encrypted live stream from home. If you book the purely online live course instead, you save on course fees.
In terms of content, the course is divided into two IHK exam parts. Business-related qualifications cover economics, business administration, accounting, law and taxes, as well as corporate management. Action-specific qualifications cover financial management, production processes, marketing and sales, knowledge management, as well as leadership and collaboration.
For the first exam part, you need a completed three-year commercial or administrative apprenticeship. Without a suitable apprenticeship, several years of relevant professional experience are an alternative. For the second part, passing the first part plus another year of professional experience counts.
At the end, you receive an IHK certificate as a certified Industriefachwirt IHK. The qualification is at DQR level 6 and is therefore equivalent to a master craftsman, technician or bachelor's degree. Optionally, you can book the trainer aptitude certificate (AdA) for 250 euros.
Honestly, I like the administrative service: IFF takes care of your BAföG application and the IHK registration. You also get a loan device, free weekend tutoring and a exam preparation week. Cancellation is possible free of charge up to fourteen days before the course starts.
