The continuing education takes you through network technology in 13 modules. You start with the basic concepts, i.e., topologies, network nodes, and protocol fundamentals. Then it goes into transmission media, physical components, and interface technologies. A dedicated module covers IP addressing with IPv4, IPv6, subnets, and DNS.
In the fourth module, you dive into Cisco. You learn about the hardware and software and configure your first networks. Network performance, monitoring, and troubleshooting in Cisco networks follow. The management of heterogeneous and homogeneous network systems is also covered.
The middle section revolves around switching and routing. VLANs, trunking, inter-VLAN routing, and the Spanning Tree Protocol are on the agenda. The routing concepts cover routing tables, protocols, and forwarding processes. Advanced topics such as FHRP, Software Defined Networking, and MPLS are added.
Finally, it becomes security- and operations-focused. You deal with encryption, authentication, access control lists, and firewall configuration. Monitoring, backup strategies, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning follow. The last module covers automation tools, scripting, and the future of network technologies.
Learning is 100% digital, accompanied by a personal learning companion. In full-time, the course lasts 13 weeks with 37.5 hours per week. In part-time, you learn more flexibly. You can study daily between 07:00 and 22:00. Access to the courses remains with you for life, including all updates.
For participation, you need a Bildungsgutschein (education voucher) and German at B2 level. A laptop or PC with stable internet is required; if necessary, OneCareer will lend you a device. At the end, you receive the OneCareer provider certificate and a certificate of participation. Those who receive the funding approval also get the provider's AI course in addition.
