The Logistics Master (IHK) is the central advanced training program for specialists and managers in the logistics industry. As a Logistics Master, you manage warehouses, material flow, and transport processes. You lead teams and ensure smooth operations in the supply chain. The legal basis is the Logistics Master Examination Ordinance.
In the area of operational logistics processes, you learn planning and optimization of material flows, warehousing, and transport. In the area of leadership and personnel, it's about practical employee management. This includes shift planning, occupational safety, and team development. The basic qualifications cover business administration, law, natural science and technology, as well as methodology.
The classes take place live online in small groups of a maximum of 18 participants. You choose between three formats: evening course, weekend course on Saturdays, or full-time. Missed units can be made up using recordings. The IHK exam itself is taken on site at your responsible Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
The IHK exam consists of three parts. The first part covers the basic qualifications, the second part covers the action-specific qualifications. The third part is the trainer aptitude exam according to AEVO. The basic qualifications are written exams. The action-specific qualifications consist of situation-based tasks and a technical interview.
The course is aimed at specialists in warehousing, transport, and logistics. This means anyone who wants to take on leadership responsibility. For admission, you need a completed apprenticeship in a logistics profession plus one year of practical experience. With a different apprenticeship, it's two years of practical experience, and without any apprenticeship, five years.
The qualification is at DQR level 6 and is equivalent to an academic bachelor's degree. This gives you higher education entrance qualification. The trainer certificate according to AEVO is included in the master examination. After that, you can train apprentices without an additional exam. The continuing education is eligible for funding through the Aufstiegs-BAföG or the Qualification Opportunities Act. After passing the exam, there is a master's bonus depending on the federal state. The provider offers free advice on funding options and helps with the application process.
