The program is developed in collaboration with Virginia Tech Continuing and Professional Education and is supported by Simplilearn. It combines UX research, design thinking, UI design, wireframing, prototyping, and usability testing. In addition, new AI technologies for everyday design are included. The curriculum is developed, reviewed, and approved with support from the university.
You learn about over 25 UX tools, including Figma, Miro, Maze, Whimsical, and Uizard. You use generative AI for research, ideation, design workflows, and usability analysis. A dedicated workshop focuses on agentic AI for UX/UI designers. You get Figma Premium for free for six months.
The course runs entirely online in virtual live sessions. The program lasts 6 months, with live instruction spread over 20 weeks. Sessions are mostly on weekends, with 5 to 8 hours per week. Practice and theory are in an 80:20 ratio. You can watch missed units as recordings.
Over 75 activities, demos, discussions, and case studies guide you through the material. In addition, there are more than 15 hands-on projects and a final project. Five projects focus on AR, VR, and XR. At the end, you have a portfolio to present on Behance and Dribbble.
The bootcamp is aimed at anyone interested in UI/UX design. It targets aspiring designers, experienced design professionals, product managers, web developers, mobile developers, and graphic designers. No prior knowledge is required. The level ranges from beginner to advanced.
After completion, you receive a certificate from Virginia Tech and Simplilearn. Alumni membership in Virginia Tech's continuing education department is included. You have access to the platform and recordings for one year. Important: The course and materials are in English. The live sessions are held by industry experts, not university faculty.
