About this online course

Basic information

The continuing education is structured in eight phases. You start with UX/UI basics and methods. You work with Figma, FigJam and Notion and learn typography, iconography, colors and design principles. Design Thinking is added right in the first phase. In phase two, you deepen User Research and User Centered Design. You create User Personas, User Flows and Journeys and practice UX Writing and UX Storytelling.

Phase three is about accessibility and design ethics. You design your drafts to be responsive and accessible and deal with Dark Patterns and White Patterns. After that, you build a component-based design system, make your designs tangible through prototyping, and conduct your first usability testing. In phase five, you get a web development excursion and practice agile methods like Scrum and Kanban.

The sixth phase is AI-optimized. You learn the basics of generative AI, the current tools and the risks of using them. Afterwards, it's about your career and self-management, i.e. case studies, portfolio, time management and stress management. The conclusion is a capstone project with mentoring, which you prepare as a case study for your portfolio.

The course runs 16 weeks full-time, Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 18:30. Teaching is live online in groups of about 15 participants. Alternatively, you can attend on-site in Berlin. The language of instruction is German or English depending on the course date.

The bootcamp is aimed at experienced professionals with a design background, such as art directors, graphic and communication designers, or media designers. Graduates of a design degree and career changers with an affinity for design are also addressed. According to the provider, prior knowledge is not required because the course starts with the basics.

At the end, you receive a certificate in UX/UI Design with AI. The provider is AZAV- and HZA-certified, so funding through the Federal Employment Agency is possible. A career service accompanies you with resume reviews, LinkedIn feedback, and interview coaching until you land a job.
