About this online course

Basic information

The UX/UI Design part-time course from SuperCode runs for 14 weeks. It is aimed at people who want to reorient themselves professionally or build new skills alongside their job. You learn how to design user-friendly, functional and visually appealing interfaces. The path leads from the first idea to an interactive prototype.

The first module is called "UX: Understand and apply". It focuses on user-centered design, design processes and methodical work. You deal with the heuristics according to Nielsen Norman, information architecture and UX analysis methods. One focus is the Design Thinking process from Empathize to Define to Ideate. In addition, there are first applications in Figma, from wireframing to prototyping to usability testing.

In the second module "UI: Designing user interfaces", it's about the visual implementation of digital products. You work with colors, typography, grids, components and interactive elements. The technical implementation runs consistently with Figma, including auto layout, variants and Smart Animate. Accessibility, design systems and common UI trends are also included. On several practice days, you refine your designs until they are ready for presentation.

The third module is the final project. In a team, you develop a complete UX/UI process, starting with user research. Structured task flows, personas and a well-thought-out prototype emerge from this. A style guide, stylescape and a final high-fidelity prototype are part of the result. The project also serves you as a portfolio project for job applications. It is presented and reflected on in a final presentation.

Classes usually take place on one or two mornings or evenings per week. The times are from 9 to 12 o'clock or 5 to 8 o'clock. You learn live and online in a group with a maximum of 10 to 12 participants. The lessons are guided by experts from practice. According to SuperCode, there are no recorded videos.

The course is 100% fundable durch the Bildungsgutschein (education voucher). Other options are the Qualification Opportunities Act, the Kompass funding, the German Pension Insurance and funding for soldiers after their term of service ends. According to the course page, a MacBook is included. Two case studies are part of the program. SuperCode does not name a degree or certificate on the course page.
