In the SFWIPF seminar, you learn how to use Cisco Secure Firewall Threat Defense. It serves as a next-generation firewall at the Internet edge. You understand the architecture and deployment scenarios of the Cisco Secure Firewall, basic configuration, and packet processing. The advanced options and troubleshooting in Secure Firewall administration are also included.
You configure settings and policies for Cisco Secure Firewall Threat Defense and understand how different policies affect packet processing. In the Cisco Secure Firewall Management Center, you perform basic threat analysis and administrative tasks.
Content-wise, the course covers an introduction to Cisco Secure Firewall Threat Defense, including deployment and management options. You configure basic network settings, high availability, and Auto-NAT. You practice detection, pre-filter, access control, file, and intrusion policies, as well as Security Intelligence and traffic flow troubleshooting.
The seminar is aimed at network security engineers and administrators. Prerequisites are basic knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols, and firewall, VPN, and IPS concepts.
The training lasts five days and takes place as an in-person event in Hamburg, Berlin, Frankfurt am Main, or Munich. Alternatively, it is held as a virtual classroom with an instructor. Theory and practice alternate, and you exchange ideas directly with experienced trainers and other participants.
After participation, you receive a certificate of attendance and a digital Open Badge as proof of competence. The training prepares you for the CCNP Security certification. For this, you need the core exam 350-701 SCOR and a concentration exam such as 300-710 SNCF. For recertification, it gives you 40 Continuing Education credits.
