AI in Marketing: Courses That Really Help You

Over the past few months, I've tested a whole series of AI tools in marketing. My conclusion is sobering. The technology is rarely the problem. The problem is that nobody knows exactly what to use it for. That's exactly where the courses on this page come in. They show you prompting, content, campaigns, and automation using real cases. No course here promises you the one button that does marketing all by itself. They all rely on you making better decisions yourself afterward. You'll find 15 offers here, from a one-day workshop to a certificate program from a university.

Where to Start When You're at Zero

My advice: Start with a broad foundational course, not with a specialized topic. A course on AI in online marketing gives you the map first. After that, you know which discipline really affects your job. Anyone who jumps straight into a ChatGPT SEO course learns a tool without context. That backfires as soon as the next tool appears. And the next tool always comes. After a foundational course, you book the specialized topic much more accurately. This sequence has saved me a lot of tuition fees.

Which Provider Fits You?

Six providers share the 15 courses on this page. 121WATT offers the largest selection with seven courses, always with a maximum of 15 spots. eMBIS covers prompting, automation, and foundations, with at most twelve people in the room. The Münchner Marketing Akademie goes the furthest, all the way to a university certificate. OMR Education delivers the only pure E-Learning course. The IHK Akademie München contributes a single text workshop. The smallest group is at ifmera academy, with a maximum of eight participants. That size would be my first choice as soon as I bring my own projects.

How Long Does an AI Marketing Continuing Education Course Take?

Most offers here are pleasantly short. One or two days are the norm, usually from morning to afternoon. The longest course on this page runs over five days in individual modules. Plus there's a pure E-Learning course with about ten hours of learning time. I think two days is the best compromise. One day is enough for a topic, but not for a strategy. Make sure to schedule half a day of follow-up work in your calendar. Without those hours, what you've learned evaporates within a week.

What Does an AI Marketing Seminar Cost?

The range on this page goes from €550 to €3,950. Most providers quote net prices, i.e., without VAT. A one-day course is between €550 and €780. Two days cost €980 to €1,400 depending on the provider. The complete course with university certificate costs €3,950. My impression after comparing: The price says little about the quality. It says a lot about group size, catering, and type of certificate. So always check what is actually included in the price.

Will Someone Pay for You?

For most courses here, funding is possible according to the provider. Two offers specifically mention the KOMPASS funding for solo self-employed people. Two courses, on the other hand, explicitly state that there is no funding. Honestly, I find the application process for employees usually too cumbersome. The quickest way is directly through your employer. A two-day course is a manageable line item for a marketing department. Ask before booking, and you'll save yourself the upfront payment.

ChatGPT Marketing: SEO, SEA, and Texts

This is where it gets specific. There are dedicated courses for ChatGPT in SEO and in search engine advertising. Plus a course on online writing with AI. From my experience, the SEA topic is particularly worthwhile because you need ad copy in bulk. When writing, there's a simple rule: The AI delivers the raw framework; you have to contribute your own stance and examples yourself. Anyone who reverses that produces texts that sound interchangeable.

AI Content Creation: Images, Design, and Social Media

For AI content creation, you'll find several paths here. There are courses on image creation, media design, and social media with AI. One E-Learning course covers content production completely online, including a final test. I think the image topics are significantly underestimated. Anyone can produce decent text nowadays, but not good image prompts. That's how you can tell in the feed who has really practiced. An image course pays off especially if you run social media yourself.

Marketing Automation: The Biggest Lever

One course on this page is entirely about marketing automation with AI. For me, that's the most exciting course in the whole field. Writing content faster saves you minutes. A well-built flow saves you hours every week. If you're already writing with AI and still sending everything out manually, this is your next course. Roughly calculate how much time your routine tasks eat up.

Do You Really Need a Certificate?

Almost all courses here end with a certificate of attendance. Two providers additionally issue an Open Badge as a digital proof. Only the large course concludes with a university certificate. My opinion on this is uncomfortable. In an employee job, what counts is what you can do on Monday, not the paper. For freelancers, it looks different. There, a recognized certificate is a real selling point in client conversations. So first ask who is supposed to see the proof anyway.

Live-Online, In-Person, or E-Learning?

Ten of the 15 courses run exclusively online, almost all as live-online courses. Four courses can be booked either in person or as a stream. Only one text workshop takes place exclusively in person, in Munich. If you need maximum flexibility, go for the E-Learning course with videos and practical exercises. I clearly prefer live-online. You get your questions answered immediately and save travel time and hotel costs. In-person is only worth it for me in very practical workshops.

Who This Is Worthwhile For

The courses are aimed at marketing managers, content people, agency teams, and self-employed individuals. You rarely need prior AI knowledge, but you do need marketing experience. If you've never managed a campaign, you lack the use case. Then you'll learn tools in a vacuum, and that's frustrating. I made that exact mistake myself with a tool course without my own project. In that case, better start with a classic marketing foundations course. For everyone else: The more concrete your current project, the more you'll take away.

How to Choose Your Course

I follow the same four points for every course:
  • Does the topic fit your work week? Check what you would apply on Monday.
  • Does the provider name the trainer? Without a name, you don't know who's leading.
  • Do you work on your own cases? Otherwise you only take away other people's examples.
  • Do you get materials? Prompt libraries and scripts are worth their weight in gold later.
Then you compare dates and prices and book early. For some courses, there's only one single date on the calendar.
