The continuing education course to become an AI Officer comprises 40 teaching hours and is conducted as an online live seminar. It teaches fundamental, legal, ethical, and practical skills for the use of Artificial Intelligence. The provider distributes the content over five seminar days from 09:00 to 16:00.
On the first day, you first sort out the terms. It's about the state of digitalization in nursing. Then you differentiate between automation, algorithmic systems, and AI. You look at application areas in documentation, planning, risk detection, and assistance. A separate block clarifies your future task profile.
The legal part covers GDPR, confidentiality, and documentation obligations. In addition, the basics of the EU AI Act with its risk classes are covered. On the second day, you deepen data protection and data security, cloud solutions, and order processing. The responsibility of nursing, management, and the provider is also clarified.
It gets practical with prompting. You practice where AI can be used meaningfully in nursing. Typical contexts are structuring texts, summarizing information, and preparing reflections. One block covers good and bad prompts. It also deals with what you should not input.
Day three is dedicated to nursing ethics. Power, vulnerability, and protection needs are addressed. Afterwards, you work with the implementation guide of the PPZ Nuremberg. You apply its guiding questions to concrete examples from nursing practice. You learn to distinguish permissible from non-permissible areas of application.
On the fourth day, it's about counseling. You learn to deal with reservations and fears in the team. You should explain AI topics in an understandable way for different qualification levels. Informing those in need of care and relatives is also part of it. Quality assurance, monitoring, and reporting to management and the provider round off the day.
The last day is dedicated to the transfer into one's own facility and ends with a colloquium. The target audience includes nursing service managers, nursing professionals from geriatric care and hospitals, as well as practical instructors. Ward and residential area managers and nursing assistants are also part of the target group.
