If you are an employee of a medium-sized company and take on a management position for the first time, your tasks will change fundamentally. New requirements are added to the technical work, such as guiding, convincing, motivating and coordinating processes in the team. The basic course "From Employee to Supervisor" teaches you the fundamentals and methods for leading employees.
In the course, you will deal with the requirements of a modern manager and with different leadership styles. You will learn the four leadership styles of situational leadership and find out which style is suitable in which situation. Another topic is the role change itself. You will learn about the expectations of your employees and typical conflict areas when transitioning from colleague to supervisor.
For difficult conversations, you practice communication techniques such as delegating, giving recognition and criticism, instructing and convincing. In addition, you learn the basics of conflict management and conflict moderation for typical conflict situations in daily leadership. After the course, you can reflect on your own leadership behavior and use individual methods purposefully.
The basic course lasts 2 days and runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. You book it as a live online training or as an in-person seminar at one of 18 training locations in Germany. You work with theory, exercises, group work and experience exchange.
The course is aimed at employees who are taking on management tasks for the first time, such as project managers, shift supervisors, group leaders or university graduates. You do not need any prior knowledge; you dive directly into the basics of leadership, communication and conflict management.
After successful participation, you will receive a certificate of participation. Kebel Training guarantees the course will run with as few as one participant. If needed, the provider also offers the course as a company or in-house training.
