The retraining program to become a specialist in warehouse logistics lasts 24 months and concludes with an exam before the Chamber of Industry and Commerce. It teaches the knowledge and skills specified by the nationwide training regulations and the framework curriculum for this recognized profession.
Logistics revolves around one central task: goods must be available in the right quantity, at the right time, and in the right place, at the lowest possible cost. You receive goods, check their quality, and store them properly. Later, you put together shipments, plan routes, and load and dispatch the goods.
Lessons take place in a virtual classroom. You hear and see the instructors live and speak directly with them. This method is similar to face-to-face teaching. If you don't have your own device, you will be lent a laptop for the lessons.
Six months of the retraining consist of a mandatory internship at a company. You receive support in finding a placement. This is followed by a reflection phase where you discuss practical experiences together. Application training prepares you for starting your career.
The retraining is aimed at people who want to gain a recognized qualification in warehouse logistics. Prerequisites include German language skills at level B2 and basic computer skills. Specialists in warehouse logistics work in almost all industries where warehousing plays a role.
At the end, you take the Chamber exam and receive an in-house certificate or a certificate of participation. If your performance is very good, you can also obtain a forklift license during the retraining. Before the program starts, the provider offers preparatory courses to refresh your basic knowledge.
