Basic information

Digitalization is fundamentally changing the production environment. Machines, people, and products are becoming increasingly connected. Companies are merging the real and virtual worlds. Industry 4.0, Smart Factory, and Artificial Intelligence are among the key concepts. You will also learn about the Internet of Things, cyber-physical systems, and Virtual Reality in the course.

In the course, you get a comprehensive overview of these concepts. You learn how to bring them into the digital transformation of your company. The entire industrial value chain is affected, from raw materials through product use to recycling. With your new expertise, you can influence business functions and develop new infrastructures and design principles.

The course content focuses on the intelligent networking of production and logistics processes with modern information and communication technologies. This includes the simulation of business, manufacturing, and assembly processes as well as virtual technologies. The Internet of Things and its influence on smart factories are also part of it.

In the Digital Production module, you dive into central questions of AI-based automation. Afterwards, you get to know technologies of simulation, 3D modeling, as well as Virtual and Augmented Reality. Additionally, you deal with the Semantic Web.

In the Supply Chain Management module, you deal with the basics and strategies of logistics control. You examine how digitalization makes warehousing, production, and delivery more service-oriented. In doing so, it acts as a driver for servitization in supply chain management.

The course is aimed at specialists and managers from IT management, IT, and logistics. It is also suitable for anyone who wants to deal with Industry 4.0. During the course, you are accompanied by personal study support, specialized subject tutors, and dedicated lecturers.

After successfully completing 6 assignments, you receive your university certificate from Euro-FH. If you also complete a project work, the certificate will also show the 12 credits of the course. You can have these credits recognized for a later university study.
