The seminar "Data Protection Officer (TÜV)" prepares you for the role of an internal or external data protection officer in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation and the new BDSG. You will be taught the basic legal knowledge for your role, including all legal changes that have arisen as a result of the GDPR, the legally compliant handling of personal data, and the organizational environment of corporate data protection.
On the first and second training days, the focus is on the fundamentals of data protection law, important terms and principles according to Art. 4 and 5 GDPR, legally effective consent, and the core areas of data protection such as customer, prospect, and employee data protection. Subsequently, you will learn about the rights of data subjects, the tasks and position of the data protection officer in the company, and the powers of the supervisory authorities.
On the third and fourth training days, the focus is on data protection management and organization, including the record of processing activities according to Art. 30 GDPR, risk assessment, and the data protection impact assessment according to Art. 35 GDPR. Finally, you will cover the security of processing according to Art. 32 GDPR as well as the notification obligations according to Art. 33 and 34 GDPR.
In advance, you will receive free access to four e-learning modules and one VR module, which you can use for preparation and follow-up for one year. The seminar lasts four days; in the webinar, after the first two training days, there is a day off from instruction, followed by the last two days. You can take the seminar either as a webinar on the OnlineCampus or in person at several locations in Germany.
The event is aimed at individuals who want to qualify as an internal data protection officer or have already been appointed, at external data protection officers, and at anyone who wants to deal with the topic of data protection.
At the end of the fourth day, you can take a written exam for the certificate completion as Data Protection Officer (TÜV®). A separate registration is required for this, and additional exam fees apply. By the way, appointment as an internal data protection officer is not compatible with positions such as managing director, authorized signatory, IT manager, or HR manager, as this would lead to a conflict of interest.
Included in the price are the paperback "Datenschutzrecht Beck-Texte im dtv" and the seminar script, digital and in paper form. After the exam, you will receive a certificate from TÜV NORD CERT, which documents your expertise in current legal regulations, data protection organization, and IT security.
