About this online course

Basic information

With the EU AI Act, companies, administrations, and organizations that develop or use AI systems also bear responsibility for technical, legal, and ethical risks. The certificate course qualifies you to identify, assess, and ensure appropriate risk management for these risks early on. In doing so, you take on a key role in developing and implementing AI projects in the company.

The first modules lay the foundations: You deal with AI definitions and key figures, AI technologies and application areas such as machine learning, deep learning, and NLP, as well as the role of an AI officer in the company. Then it covers GDPR, the AI Act, and other liability topics, risk classification and risk management systems, as well as ethics guidelines, bias, discrimination, and transparency along the AI lifecycle.

In the further modules, risk management and security aspects are the focus: technical, legal, and organizational risks, security requirements for AI systems, checklists and security audits, as well as measures for risk reduction. This is followed by implementation and governance with AI strategy, resource planning, and roadmap, the delimitation from related roles such as data protection officers and IT security officers, as well as a practical workshop with participants' own projects.

The course comprises 53 teaching hours plus 12 hours of self-study and has an online component of 100 percent. The online training usually takes place from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The offer is provided via the e-learning platform of DIHK-Bildungs-gGmbH; for this purpose, the first name, last name, and email address of the participants are transmitted to DIHK-Bildungs-gGmbH.

Addressed are all those who want to deal with AI compliance and ethical responsibility, especially data protection and compliance officers, IT and innovation managers, as well as specialists and managers in the AI project environment. The offer supports the building of AI competence of the staff and can be used to document measures within the framework of Art. 4 of the AI Act.

The certificate course is conducted entirely online, including the internal final test. Prerequisites for the certificate are attendance of at least 80 percent and passing the final test. In addition, there is an online IHK certificate test and a project work accompanying the course, in which you evaluate an AI application, present the results, and discuss them in a technical discussion.
