With the EU AI Act, the European Union has created the first comprehensive legal framework for the use of AI systems. In one day, this seminar gives you an overview of the key content of the AI Regulation: its origin and objectives, scope, central terms, and the specific timeline — i.e., what applies after 6, 12, 24, and 36 months.
The focus is on the risk-based approach of the regulation. You work with the four risk classes: minimal, limited, high, and unacceptable. You see examples of typical high-risk applications and learn to distinguish which systems are affected and which are not. Building on this, you’ll look at the catalog of obligations for providers and users, including transparency, reporting, and documentation duties, as well as the requirements for data, monitoring, and human oversight.
Another block covers compliance and governance. You’ll learn about the tasks of the EU AI Office and national authorities, the sanctions and fines that can be imposed for violations, and how the AI Act interacts with the GDPR, product liability, and the Cyber Resilience Act. The practical implementation via an AI management system, for example according to ISO/IEC 42001, is also covered.
Practical examples and case studies from industry, services, and public administration show you what companies are already implementing and where the challenges lie. At the end, you’ll develop a roadmap for compliance: inventorying all AI applications, risk classification and identification of action needs, building an interdisciplinary AI team from legal, IT, and business departments, and creating an internal AI policy. You’ll take away checklists and templates for practice.
This seminar is aimed at managers, project leaders, IT managers, legal and compliance managers, and product developers who are responsible for the introduction, use, or development of AI systems. The provider conducts it as a seminar according to Art. 4 of the AI Act for proof of AI competence.
The schedule is set for one day from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and takes place location-independently as a live online event via video conference. The group comprises a maximum of eight participants. The provider guarantees the course will run: the session will take place even if you are the only interested person. You can cancel or reschedule online free of charge up to 30 days before the start.
