AKAD University offers Spanish as a distance learning course at six levels. You start at A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 or C2. Each level lasts 5 months and is 100 percent online, including the exams. If you are unsure, you take the free online language test beforehand.
In the A1 course you learn basic terms for holiday situations. Prepositions, pronouns and numbers are also included. Afterwards, you introduce yourself in Spanish and place an order in a restaurant. Level A2 brings you around 1,500 new words from everyday life, holidays and work.
At level B1 you consolidate speaking, reading, writing and listening. You practice the subjunctive as well as infinitive, superlative and passive. An excursus on country, cuisine and culture rounds off the course. In B2, conditional, subjunctive and comparative are added.
Level C1 is aimed at advanced learners with an intermediate language level. You write business letters, applications and prepare minutes in Spanish. In C2 you reach the highest level of the Common European Framework of Reference. Pronunciation and intonation are also on the agenda there.
The exams differ depending on the level. For A1 and A2 you take online tests. For B1 and B2 there is also a telephone workshop. For C1 and C2 you write a written exam.
For A1 to B2 you receive an AKAD certificate. C1 and C2 conclude with a university certificate and 5 ECTS. The e-learning content comes from Rosetta Stone. Before deciding, you can test the course for 4 weeks without obligation.
