About this online course

Basic information

In supply chains, procurement, production, logistics, and distribution directly interlock. The "Supply Chain Management" course shows you how to keep an eye on goods flows, quality, digitalization, and sustainability goals simultaneously. You learn to analyze supply chains holistically and to optimize procurement, production, and distribution in a well-founded manner.

In the mandatory Supply Chain Management module, you get the basics. You learn the structure, tasks, and goals of SCM, as well as design options in the supply chain. Controlling and sustainability aspects are also included. After that, you choose five additional modules from twelve elective modules. Options include procurement management, production and operations management, logistics and transport management, digitalization, and sustainability in supply chains.

The course runs 100% online. You work through learning scripts, videos, online seminars, and discussion forums at your own pace. An AI tutor supports you in answering questions and practicing independently. For each module you select, you complete an assignment on the online campus with multiple-choice questions, knowledge questions, and application tasks. You receive timely correction and feedback for each assignment.

The specialization is aimed at specialists and managers from purchasing, logistics, production, and distribution. It also addresses (junior) managers who want to steer supply chains. It is equally suitable for career changers with a commercial or technical background. Professionals dealing with sustainability, digitalization, or process optimization in value networks also benefit.

The standard study duration is six months. DAM calculates an average effort of five to ten hours per week. You determine your own learning pace and can learn faster or slower. If something comes up, you can extend the support period free of charge to a total of twelve months.

After passing the exams, you receive a transcript with grades and a final certificate without grades, both in German and English. For the course, you earn 21 CEU (Continuing Education Units). Additionally, DAM can issue you a confirmation of 9 ECTS, whose recognition lies with the respective university. If you successfully complete this specialization, the modules can also be credited towards the Certified Business Manager (DAM) course.
